Back East Bar & Grill

www.backeastbarandgrill.com

HOURS: Sunday – Tuesday 10:30AM – Midnight, Wednesday – Saturday 10:30AM – 1AM.

Back East Bar and Grill is locally owned and operated with a focus on fantastic staff and family friendly atmosphere. Here you will find great New York style pizza, delicious burgers, an awesome kids menu, and a full bar. Besides great food and drink here you will also find trivia night on Wednesdays, karaoke on Fridays, live music from local bands on every other Saturday, and happy hour Monday through Friday from 4-7pm with deals on select drafts, house wine, and well drinks.

Review: Hands down the best cob salad, wings (with blue cheese dressing) and pizza around the town of Monument.  The location off of Hwy. 105 is set back behind the Kum & Go so it can be hard to find. The restaurant can be very loud on busy nights so we usually try to sit outside and the mountain views are just beautiful.  This place can be pretty busy on the weekends with locals and families after sporting events. 3-Rocks

Chamber of Commerce

Chamber of Commerce

The Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce is located in downtown Monument, Colorado. A hub for local leaders and business in the Tri-Lakes area.

https://www.trilakeschamber.com/

Review: Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce:  My experience with the Chamber is through their generous efforts to make space available in their building for community-related events.  Their Community Meeting Room is clean, large, has new tables and chairs, and an attached kitchen making it a very versatile room. The staff is friendly and makes a huge effort to support the local community.

The Bistro on 2nd is the true definition of an American Bistro. The contemporary cuisine is sophisticated home cooking that stops short of fancy. The relaxed ambiance is a balance between formality and intimacy. Discover “The Bistro” today.

Review: Bistro on 2nd:  Set in the heart of the historic town of Monument, this little gem of a restaurant offers an upscale dining experience at a reasonable price.  The service is excellent, only to be outdone by the delicious menu items. My experience was during dinner hours, but I have heard excellent feedback from the lunch crowd as well.  3 Rocks.

La Casa

Review: My husband and I had the privilege of dining at La Casa Fiesta on a chilly Friday evening. We were sat in the extended space that had this gorgeous fireplace that added all the ambiance we needed. It was also nice that he didn’t have to miss the game! The food was delicious and the service was personal and attentive. Thanks for an awesome time! We now have our go-to Mexican restaurant on the North end.

Woodmoor Country club

Review: Country Club at Woodmoor has been the recreational and social center for our neighborhoods’. My children learned to swim there, we spent our summers at the pool and playing golf, tennis and enjoying daily fitness classes.   This facility hosted not only my daughter’s birthday parties but also my 40th and 50th and my wedding reception! Wonderful memories throughout the years!

Woodmoor country club building

Review: I have been a member of the Country Club of Woodmoor for about 18 years. It’s a very family-friendly club with kids activities planned often. The club offers a beautiful, and challenging 18 hole golf course, 4 nice indoor tennis courts, 2 pools (1 indoor), 2 restaurants, a weight room and an exercise floor. Fitness classes are offered daily. There is a very active tennis program in the spring and summer with USTA leagues for men and women levels 2.0-4.0. The outdoor pool is a great place to be in the summer. It has amazing views of Pikes Peak and offers food and beverages poolside. Golf leagues for men and women are also offered from May through October. The Country Club of Woodmoor has a pub and a more formal dining room throughout the year. If you’re looking for a pretentious, fancy club this isn’t it. However, the Country Club of Woodmoor is a great value for the money.

Kings Deer Golf Club

Kings Deer Golf Club

Kings Deer Golf Club opened their course in 1999 and it was designed by Redstone Golf Group. The 18-hole championship golf course offers stunning views of Pikes Peak and the whole Front Range. Built in the community of Kings Deer with luxury custom homes by only the finest builders in Colorado. The course is known for its rolling fairways and smooth undulating greens for a Scottish links style course.  The dining room

Review: The Kings Deer golf course and clubhouse are fantastic!  The driving range and putting facility are places where you can really improve your game.  The golf course itself is challenging, but fair. It’s a Links style course and is really fun.  The clubhouse serves great food and drink. It’s a great place to play golf and have fun! 3-Rocks!

Review: This course is for no beginner.  Plan or losing about 3-4 balls if you’re not an experience golfer.  I love the driving range at the course and frequent the range about once a week.  The course does have a most beautiful views of Pikes Peak and the surrounding areas.  Plan on golfing in the morning because it gets a little windy in the afternoon. 2 ½ Rocks because I’m no expert golfer.

Lake Woodmoor

Lake Woodmoor

Lake Woodmoor is privately owned by Woodmoor Water & Sanitation. There is no public access to the lake.  The homes around the lake enjoy the beauty is has to offer with views of Pikes Peak as a background. Years ago the lake was open to the public and you could rent small paddle boats from the shore. The lake is very cold and really not suited for swimming.

Review: 30 years ago you could swim in the lake and enjoy summer activities there, but no longer.  We use to take our kids there and float around the lake. It’s still a beautiful lake and still enjoy driving by and looking at it. 2-Rocks only because there’s no public access to the lake.

Review: I’ve lived in Monument for 30 years and our go to place to meet our friends and have a great time is O’Malleys in Palmer Lake.  The steaks are great and my friends enjoy their giant baskets of fries. Good times, good food, in an Irish Pub setting. In the summer it’s nice to sit outside on the deck and eat and enjoy the beautiful Mountain views.  It’s where the locals go!! 3-Rocks!

Review: What an awesome place! It’s great to get on our bike and go for a drive and meet up with all our buddies at one of our favorite spots in the Tri-Lakes area. At any given time you can find 30 bikes outside this steak pub in the little town of Palmer Lake. Sitting on the outdoor deck looking at the lake and the mountains is such a great relaxing feeling.

Terry J.

Review: Coming from the small town of Monument its so much fun to come back home to visit and meet up with friends at O’Malley’s! Christmas Eve is the best at O’Malley’s where you will find many Lewis Palmer alumni hanging out reminiscing about old times. One of my favorite places over the holidays!

The Ice Cave Cider House

The Ice Cave Cider House creates small batch hard cider in a variety of flavors including oak aged, classic dry, Belgian, raspberry, peach, currant, cherry, ginger and hops. Here you will find a small friendly atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating with games available for entertainment and a couple of small bites to go with your ciders. If you cannot decide on just one flavor, they have the perfect option of a flight of cider, so you may sample a variety so you can find your favorite. Julie and David Troudt opened their cider house in September of 2015 and are keeping their cider true to Old World form. Most hard cider is very sweet while British hard cider is drier, which they are use to. You will find that many of the cider names are named after places you will find in the Monument area.  Cider making is similar to craft brewing, the longer the fermentation process the better the batch.
