O’Malley’s Steak Pub

Visit O’Malley’s

Location: 104 HIGHWAY 105

Hours: Open every day of the year serving full menu from 11am-2am

O’Malley’s is an independent, family owned restaurant that was started in 1986. This spot has become the ‘pub’ where everybody knows your name, and they are open every day of the year, so people can always have friends to be with and a place to go. Their bar has 12 beers on tap and have a good mix of domestic and micro brews as well as a large bottled selection, in addition they have a full bar and can mix up just about anything you want. When you get hungry they have steaks, chili, soup, salads, burgers, wings and hand cut Idaho potatoe fries to satisfy any craving you may have. Everything is homemade and prepared in O’Malley’s kitchen. Cooking your own meat on a big grill with your friends over conversation is what their known for.

Review: I’ve lived in Monument for 30 years and our go to place to meet our friends and have a great time is O’Malleys in Palmer Lake.  The steaks are great and my friends enjoy their giant baskets of fries. Good times, good food, in an Irish Pub setting. In the summer it’s nice to sit outside on the deck and eat and enjoy the beautiful Mountain views.  It’s where the locals go!! 3-Rocks!

Review: What an awesome place! It’s great to get on our bike and go for a drive and meet up with all our buddies at one of our favorite spots in the Tri-Lakes area. At any given time you can find 30 bikes outside this steak pub in the little town of Palmer Lake. Sitting on the outdoor deck looking at the lake and the mountains is such a great relaxing feeling.

Review: Coming from the small town of Monument its so much fun to come back home to visit and meet up with friends at O’Malley’s! Christmas Eve is the best at O’Malley’s where you will find many Lewis Palmer alumni hanging out reminiscing about old times. One of my favorite places over the holidays!

The Ice Cave Cider House

The Ice Cave Cider House creates small batch hard cider in a variety of flavors including oak aged, classic dry, Belgian, raspberry, peach, currant, cherry, ginger and hops. Here you will find a small friendly atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating with games available for entertainment and a couple of small bites to go with your ciders. If you cannot decide on just one flavor, they have the perfect option of a flight of cider, so you may sample a variety so you can find your favorite. Julie and David Troudt opened their cider house in September of 2015 and are keeping their cider true to Old World form. Most hard cider is very sweet while British hard cider is drier, which they are use to. You will find that many of the cider names are named after places you will find in the Monument area.  Cider making is similar to craft brewing, the longer the fermentation process the better the batch.

Pikes Peak Brewing Company

Pikes Peak Brewing was created by Chris Wright as a place for the community of Monument to connect and come together. The focus of their beers is to stay faithful to classic styles that also represent their personal expressions. At the brewery you will find a bar, indoor and outdoor seating, lawn games outside, and a back section for live music, as well as a back room that can be rented out for special events. During special events and throughout the warmer months you can also find local food trucks serving a vast assortment of delicious bites on the patio.

Review: Great place to meet up with all the locals from Woodmoor and the surrounding areas.  The outdoor area is perfect to take in some great mountain views and have a beer.  My team rented out the back room to host a client appreciation event one evening and the place was packed.  We were able to open the side garage door so our clients could enjoy the outdoor space as well.  Very friendly owners and staff treated us awesome.  The brewery will allow you to bring food in, due to them only have a limited menu. From time to time you can also be entertained by our local neighborhood band, “Monument Hill”.  A collection of items, from beer mugs, hats, shirts and sweatshirts can be purchase with the Pikes Peak Brewing Company logo.  3-Rocks

3 Hundred Days of Shine

3 Hundred Days Of Shine is a local distillery that makes various flavors of moonshine. This place is the vision of six Colorado families inspired by Colorado’s unofficial 300 days of sunshine slogan, and smooth moonshine infused with natural ingredients to create an experience that brings you back to a time when quality, craftsmanship and tradition were most important.
Wednesday, Thursday: 3pm-9pm
Friday: 3pm-10pm
Saturday: noon-10pm
Sunday: noon-6pm

“Great summertime spot with outdoor picnic tables and food truck.  Tables inside as well for the colder weather.  Owners very helpful with picking out the best moonshine for your taste buds.  Samplers are popular if you’re looking for just the right flavor.  You can even buy moonshine jars to take home.  A must stop for those looking for some fun, cool drinks, out of the norm.  Location could be better (hard to find if you’re not familiar with Monument), and owners could possibly bring in more food options and other choices of drinks.”

Cutest little moonshine place ever!  High top tables, 4 bar stools and if you’re lucky to go in the summer months they open the garage door for outdoor seating, right next to the Santa Fe Trail.  Wooden shelves above the bar hold their jars of moonshine that you can purchased for around $20.  The Margarita Moon is my favorite.  Pretty sure it got its name from Colorado having 300 days of sunshine. When visiting Monument you have to stop at this place.
