Just Northeast of Colorado Springs along Highway 24, Falcon was originally a railroad crossing for the historic Denver and New Orleans Railroad in the late 1800’s. After some growth challenges, including a flood in 1935, Falcon remained a quiet home to mostly ranchers. However, it nearly doubled in population in the 1990’s as the greater Colorado Springs area expanded. Although still unincorporated today, Falcon has expanded to include a wide variety of modern conveniences such as Falcon District 49 Schools and Antler Creek Golf Course, noted as the longest course in Colorado and the second longest in the Nation. Falcon neighborhoods include The Meadows, Elkhorn Estates, Meridian Ranch, Woodmen Hills, Paint Brush Hills (which is now the name of the neighborhood formerly known as “Falcon Hills”), and Falcon Heights.
