Monument Preserve, Pike National Forest Mount Herman Trailhead

Mount Herman lies within the Rampart Range of the Front Range in Monument, Colorado.  The length of this tail is 2.24 miles roundtrip and in parts can be very steep.  You will hike through meadows of Aspen trees, which I would recommend hiking the trail in the fall when trees are turning, it’s just outstanding.  Passing over boulders and rocky areas the terrain can get hairy but it’s worth it when you reach the top.  On a clear day you can see Denver to the north, Monument to the east and Colorado Springs to the south.  Bring plenty of water and parking is limited.
